Welcome to the parents forum on children's eye disorders. This is a place for parents to share their experience with and their advice about eye disorders. The Children's Eye Foundation will facilitate this discussion, but will not provide any advice that could be interpreted as medical advice.

On our Web site, many parents, such as Linda Leinart, Kelly Warnick and Tim Beecher have shared their experiences with eye disorders, in hopes that it will help parents going through the same thing. Our hope is that you will do the same and that those that need help will find it.

Thanks for the welcome, and thanks for setting up this forum.  I'm thrilled that there's a place for discussion forums with other parents going through similar things.

We have a new little ambassador! Thanks to Braden’s Mom, Linda, we have a new ambassador and have posted his story on our site. Thankfully, this story has a happy ending. If you’re interested in telling your story in a similar manner, please let me know.

Thanks,

Thomas

A friend of the foundation, Dr. David Granet, was recently on 'The Doctors' TV show, talking about vision screening and eye disorders in children. Here's a link to the short news article, which contains a link to the episode on YouTube.

We've recently posted a Patient and Parent Guide to Strabismus Surgery on our site. It's a comprehensive resource for parents anticipating surgery. We're also working on an economic analysis to show the economic impact of lost sight. Please let me know if you have thoughts on other useful resources.

Wow!  Thank you.  I'm only a few pages in to the guide, but it's really well-written and helpful.  I wish this had been available when we were preparing ourselves for Zoe's strabismus surgery.  Many compliments to the author(s)!

Here's another great resource, written by one of our board members (an economist), that provides a cost related to failing to prevent blindness from amblyopia. Please let me know your thoughts on it as well.
